Porsche-Diesel Standard F208 - 1958

Porsche-Diesel Standard F208 - 1958

Les Grandes Marques du Monde au Grand Palais Bonhams Parijs - Paris Frankrijk - France February 2019 Estimated : € 15.000 - 25.000 Sold for € 14.950 Dr Ferdinand Porsche's design consultancy built a handful of prototype tractors prior to WW2. An unusual feature of Porsche's tractor system (fitted to all models) was its hydraulic coupling between engine and gearbox, which permitted clutch-less gear changes and thus reduced wear on the transmission. In 1954, Mannesmann AG diversified into tractor manufacture by acquiring the rights to Porsche's engine and Allgaier GmbH's tractor design, setting up Porsche-Diesel Motorenbau GmbH. Manufactured up to 1963, Porsche's agricultural products soon gaining the same reputation for sound engineering and superb build quality as their road-car relatives. Finished in the marque's characteristic red livery, this Porsche-Diesel Standard F208 tractor is powered by a twin-cylinder air-cooled diesel engine of 1,644cc producing 18.4kW (25bhp). First registered on 17th January 1958 to a farmer, Mr Karl Richtscheid, the tractor passed to its second, Mr Edmund Frank, a bricklayer, in the 1970s while the third owner, Mr Robert Klein, a carpenter, acquired it in December 1983. The current owner bought the tractor in 1998 and brought it back to Normandy, France where it was partially restored in 2003, the work being carried out at Garage Senecal in Ablon sur Honfleur. New tyres were fitted. Subsequent maintenance has included servicing the engine, injection pump, and gearbox (2012) and an oil change and cleaning the fuel tank (2016). The tractor is sold with the original registration document (Kraftfahrzeugbrief) listing all the previous owners, but it is not currently registered. It also comes with the original service book, the 1998 sales receipt; and photographs of the restoration.

Citroën Traction Avant 11 B Cabriolet - 1939

Citroën Traction Avant 11 B Cabriolet - 1939

RM Sotheby's Place Vauban Parijs - Paris Frankrijk - France February 2019 Estimated : € 150.000 - 160.000 A noteworthy vehicle for Citroën, the Traction Avant pioneered several automotive firsts. It was amongst the first vehicles to boast not only unibody construction, but also four-wheel independent suspension and front-wheel drive. With production straddling WWII, approximately 760,000 units were produced in a variety of different formats. It has been said that the Traction 11 B cabriolet triggered Citroën authority Andre Trigano’s passion for the marque during WWII. Trigano’s family fled to the South of France when he was 14 and at the war’s end, he found himself in the presence of a Citroën Traction 11 CV cabriolet. In his own words: ‘It was registered in Belgium and had been abandoned in a hotel garage, where it remained. It was a magnificent car. . . .’ Years later, he spotted a very similar Traction 11 B cabriolet. He befriended the owner, a pharmacist named Magnol, who acquired this beautiful cabriolet new. Hidden away during the war, the car survived intact. Magnol designated Trigano the beneficiary of the convertible upon his death in 1978. Afterwards, the cabriolet was restored by Trigano’s team. The floors and sills were renewed, and mechanical elements restored. It was re-upholstered in red leather, the same colour as the dashboard, to match its red wheels. With a rich history, this stunning car awaits its next caretaker.
